The Media Studies Department are pleased to announce the winners of the ‘Short Film Competition’

KS5 – Megan Cooper for her film ‘Timshel’. Megan submitted an original film which was thought provoking and provided a really engaging response to the ‘Spring’ brief.
KS4 – Alisdair Hutton and Luke Curtis Herbert for their film about ‘determination’. Alisdair and Luke wrote, directed, edited and starred in their film which was an amazing achievement. Also Alisdair’s technical ability and post production skills were impressive for a Year 10 student.
KS3 – Ethan Trundley for his film ‘Determination’. Ethan interpreted the brief using his stop motion animation skills; coupled with some funny sound effects, this film entertained our judges.
Certificates and House Achievement Points are on their way to you. We would like to wish the winners many congratulations on your achievements and thank all students who entered. We look forward to your future entries

Year 11 Celebration Assembly

Today Year 11 enjoyed their celebration assembly periods 4 and 5. This was a great way to celebrate their achievements so far as well as look back at some of the more memorable moments and characters that have made the class of 2015 and such a fantastic year group. Many thanks to our performers Sophie Green, Milly King, Len Eadon, Alex Fuentes, Louie Farndon, Elliott Vanloo and Alisha Long who further enhanced the assembly with their fantastic performances. It is clear from the many awards that were given out and the comments that have been written in the year books that this has been a great year group and this afternoon was a lovely way to bring our time together to a close.

I would like to thank my Tutor team, Miss Mason and Mrs Bretherton for all of their support with Year 11. A special mention to Miss Davies and Miss Edwards for a memorable video to top everything off. It has been a brilliant afternoon, thank you for sharing your memories and photos with us. You were my first year group and for this you will always be very special to me. Have a restful half term and I will see you for our final week!

Best wishes for the future
